Emeritus Professor Richard Palmer in implant dentistry and periodontology at King’s College London and Dr. Peter Daniel Floyd, specialist in periodontics as editors of the book Periodontology present the reader with the fourth edition, 25 years after the first one, as a completely updated version. The book is divided in twelve chapters.
This book manages to fully guide the reader through the field of periodontology; it first presents periodontal examination and screening, continuing with pathology of periodontal disease, periodontal disease and systemic health, and then establishes diagnosis, prognosis and treatment planning. Mention is made of effective communication with patients to improve oral health, non-surgical treatment and supportive periodontal care. The techniques of periodontal surgery, reconstructive and periodontal plastic and aesthetic surgery and multidisciplinary integrated treatment are described. Finally, a series of patient presentations are made so that the practitioner acquires the skills to treat as well as possible patients encountered in daily
practice. The book Periodontology is a useful source for general dentists, dental students, dental hygienists and postgraduate students.

The Books Review is drafted in the reviewer’s sole wording and illustrates his opinions
